The Dominican Republic is getting ready for your return. The government is re-opening its borders on July 1st.
Representatives of the government and the private sector gave the final touches on Wednesday to the final protocol for safety and health that the tourism industry will use when they restart their operations on July 1 and that will be officially released in the coming days. The sanitation protocol covers all sub-sectors of the tourism industry and clearly explains what to do in each case.
Paola Rainieri stated that the tourism sector is ready to operate in this new dynamic. “We have come a long way with the lessons from other destinations and have incorporated good practices in all the standards,” he said. While Marranzini said that the protocols have been worked together, they comply with international standards, while feeling confident and that they will serve to generate the trust and safety of all travelers. Punta Cana Airport recently announced that it has already confirmed the arrival of 10 flights by July 1, when it resumes operations.
Opening the borders to international travelers will mark Phase 4, which also includes the reopening of hotels, airports, gyms, and restaurants.
See you soon, we can´t wait to have you back!
